Our Structure

EcoMom is a hybrid enterprise, formed by the charitable partnership of two entities, EcoMom Alliance, a 501(c)3 not for profit global organization and EcoMom Incorporated, a socially responsible corporation, bringing together the voices of women around the world to propel an ecologically, socially, and economically healthy future.

WHY
By inspiring and empowering women and utilizing a business model that answers the growing demand for social justice, ecological protection and economic innovation, we seek to illustrate a model of doing good, doing well and living according to a new paradigm that can in fact, help change the course of history and create a sustainable future. With EcoMom Alliance, the global movement began; With EcoMom Inc., we stepped up to help support that movement.

Women represent a tremendous power as both role models and a major market force. Every day, businesses adapt to the changing demands of women and everyday, children learn by watching their mothers. American women control over $7 trillion and influence over 85% of all purchasing decisions in the world’s largest democracy – the United State’s economy. The lifestyle and shopping choices women make every day, impact the lives of millions of people around the world via the example they set for their children, and the sourcing, production, marketing, and distribution of the goods they choose to purchase and use. We believe that the world is in the midst of a great turning and opportunity exists to leverage the historically proven power of women to help create an environmentally, socially and economically healthy future for all.

HOW
The non-profit 501(c)3 EcoMom Alliance organization ensures that programming, education and research is held by, and accountable to, the public good. As a privately held corporation, EcoMom Inc. can grow quickly, provide unique ROI to investors and consumers, and illustrate the positive power of a market-based structure. We believe this business model offers both hope and inspiration of what can be accomplished within a new paradigm of social enterprise. It is hard to do good if you are struggling to pay the bills, as many non-profits historically are; it is unconscionable to profit without considering the economic, social and environmental impact, as many companies have traditionally done. While both EcoMom entities act separately and run under distinct teams, we seek to prove that by working together, the magic can really happen, and long-term, systemic change can occur.
