When my 2 year old finally insisted that she wanted to have her nails painted like mine, there was no way I was going to let her use toxic nail polish. We've tried several colors of Piggy Paint and this is my favorite for two reasons. 1. It isn't too grown-up even though grown-ups like the color (it's on my toes right now). 2. It's the one color we've tried that doesn't need a second coat. It looks great with just one. That's important when your 2 year old decides that nail polish should only take five minutes to apply and that she should be able to touch stuff immediately. With one coat, you can be done and have it dried before they go too crazy.

The hair dryer trick to set the polish does work. My husband "had" to have his toes painted over a month ago and our daughter insisted that his also be dried and there are still several nails with polish on them. They don't last like more toxic polishes but since touch-ups are so easy with just one coat, you probably won't mind too much. The lighter colors we've tried (blue, pink and a purple) do need more than one coat and those are going to stay put away until my daughter is a little bit older and is willing to sit through two coats.
