You can tell that this stuff is different the second you open a bottle. That sharp smell isn't there. The colors are wonderful and most of the polishes go on beautifully in one coat (I found the orange needed two). However, there is a reason why all of the scary chemicals are in nail polish. This stuff scratches off fairly easily (the exception to this is the glitter that comes in this set). I have yet to try and set it with a blow dryer so it may last longer when heat treated. Of course since that doesn't matter to my little girl, it doesn't really affect my opinion of this nail polish. I really hesitate to put most nail polish on my daughter but I don't mind this brand. I've already given the purple and pink set as a gift to the mother of another toddler and they like it as much as we do.
