Kissaluvs Organic Cotton/Hemp Fitted Diaper (Newborn)

Get the job done

TaraLucida

These were the first cloth diapers we used starting at about age 2 weeks, and there were many reviews saying that KL size 0 were THE newborn dipes to use! They did what they were meant to do, but they got completely soaked between each feeding/changing session (about 2-3 hrs). I think the newer ones have hidden microfiber, so that might help with the absorbency. We just made sure we had good covers. I also found that if I hung them outside to get rid of stains they would be very stiff and seemed kind of scratchy. But they do sun well, and they hold up over multiple washes and multiple babies, and I liked the snaps!

so easy to use!

I grab these a lot when I want the ease of not having to use a snappi with a prefold. They are so soft and easy to use! I really like a them a lot, but for the price it's hard to justify a lot of them.

Great product, but a little pricey

Sharon

Pros: Holds it in, comfy for baby
Cons: Much pricier than prefolds, take a long time to dry

For those who mentioned it's a bit stiff, a couple of minutes in the dryer (gasp!) really helps with that. I usually line dry, but with the hemp it tends to benefit from a stint in the dryer.

Best for Night

Bets

I agree that these get a bit stiff, but they are the only thing that got me through the nights with my little one! I would use this diaper with a cover and it really soaked it up! I was really grateful to have them, as changing him was a disruption!

Not a big fan.

Sally

I used these in the very beginning with my youngest son. I found that they seemed soaked almost immediately. They also lost their softness quickly. I'm not a prefolds girl either. I prefer pockets. These are "okay" but not the best.

not very absorbant

Tammy

i really prefer my prefolds and covers to this

Not my favorite

Tamara Sz

These were ok. I was so excited to try them after all the good things I heard, but truthfully I really liked prefolds better for diapering my newborn.
They didn't seem as absorbent as i expected them to be and after a few washed they weren't so soft anymore, rather stiff, actually, even after drying them in the dryer.

Quick Overview

Size NB - Newborn (5-15 lbs)

Made of a mix of naturally durable and anti-bacterial Hemp, and certified Organic cotton, these new diapers take green and sustainability seriously. Organic cotton is the perfect fabric for diapers. Not only does this pure fabric provide the best for your baby, it's also environmentally safe. It is grown without any harmful sprays, chemicals, or pesticides. It's what gives our diapers that character and natural color. Organic cotton takes substantially more time and effort to cultivate, and therefore costs more, but it's worth it. Your baby gets its native goodness and our earth is better cared for, when we don't take shortcuts. A win-win for all! Combined with hemp, it's a perfect match. The Hemp plant has been around for thousands of years and is known for its sturdiness and durability. It is one of the most, if not the most durable natural fiber known to mankind. It is naturally anti-bacterial and requires no irrigation, uses no herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and gets harvested and processed by hand. Its positive environmental impact and naturally anti-bacterial properties make it a wonderful choice for diapers. Its porous nature provides superior absorbency and makes it softer with each wash.

Our diapers are made of absorbent materials inside and out, so you will likely want to use diaper covers over them. Click here to find out about diaper covers... how to choose styles and fabrics which fit well over our diapers, and more.

Care Instructions:
Before Use
  • Wash/dry diapers on hot/high 3-4 times to reach initial absorbency.
  • Wash only about a dozen or so at a time for the initial pre-washes.

Regular Washing Routine
There are many opinions about diaper washing, and many people have developed additional steps and routines based on their individual needs. Here are simple instructions to get you started.
  • Toss wet or dirty diapers into a dry pail; wash every 2-3 days.
  • An optional cold-water pre-rinse helps prevent stains and odor.
  • Use hot water and detergent.
  • Veggie-based soap helps keep fabric soft, although its effectiveness depends on the hardness of your water. In any water, soap can coat fabric, so consider alternating soap and detergent to avoid decreased absorbency over time.
  • Do not use chlorine bleach.
  • Do not use fabric softeners, which coat fabric and reduce absorbency.
  • Drying diapers in a dryer, even on high heat, is perfectly okay, although an occasional sunning of clean, wet diapers will go a long way to freshen them and reduce or eliminate staining.
  • If you choose to sun the diapers or line dry rather than use a dryer, we strongly suggest either laying the diapers flat to dry, or hanging them horizontally rather than by the waist or front section. Hanging wet diapers by the waist allows the heavy, wet weight to pull on leg elastic, which may reduce its useful life.
All reusable diapers, covers and inserts are final sale
